A large number of officers visited Spinning Meadows, Halliwell at around 2.25pm on Friday (August 7) with an air ambulance also making a stop at the grounds of the nearby Bolton Rugby Club. Police stated that a man had injuries 'consistent with a knife wound' and was taken to hospital. Eyewitness reports stated that there was a "machete" involved in the attack, though this has not been confirmed by police. GMP Investigations into the Spinning Meadows incident are still ongoing.
