Every now and then, Google releases updates to the Google Play System for Samsung smartphones and tablets. That includes Galaxy devices running beta versions of One UI, such as the Galaxy S26 series with the One UI 9.0 (Android 17) beta. Samsung US has announced that, in coordination with Google, Google Play System updates for devices running beta versions of One UI have been paused (via Tarun Vats). Since the One UI 9.0 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series is Samsung’s only active beta program at the moment, it is safe to assume that this is the program the company is referring to. The company also says that Google Play System updates will resume “at the appropriate time,” either during the beta period or after the stable version of the new software is released.
