The Silks on The Downs, off the A346 in Ogbourne St Andrew, near Marlborough, will reopen to customers on Saturday, August 8, at midday. The venue closed earlier this year after the most recent publican, 2020 MasterChef winner Thomas Frake, left the business this summer. Mr Frake had operated the pub since 2024, when it was entrusted to him by the Ogbourne Community Pub Society. The Ogbourne Community Pub Society said it was “delighted” to confirm the pub was reopening and new food menus have since been revealed. When Mr Frake said goodbye to the venue this summer, he thanked those who had supported the pub during his time in charge.
