Fire crews save school from Guilderland floodingGUILDERLAND, N.Y. (WNYT) — Flooding at Guilderland High School sent firefighters and school workers into hours of cleanup after another round of heavy rain. Firefighters were at Guilderland High School responded to the school at around 8 p.m. School offiicals told NewsChannel 13 that the water retention pond overflowed, causing flooding outside and inside the building. School workers were still using a pump to move water out of the parking lot, grass area and away from the school. A Guilderland assistant fire chief told NewsChannel 13 that crews were on scene for hours and called in multiple mutual aid companies. People on scene said the amount of rain was unlike anything they had seen there, and school staff were still working to pump water off the property and down the street.
