(WNYT)- City of Albany officials say a temporary gas pump exploded while two city employees were trying to turn it off at a press conference Friday, August 7 as they provided an update on the investigation into the incident at a Department of General Services (DGS) building. Brennan sought help from a DGS supervisor, and in the process of turning off the pumps, an explosion happened. Brennan is at Westchester Medical Center Burn Unit and the DGS supervisor is being treated at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. He says Brennan and the DGS supervisor suffered severe burns from the explosion.
