COLONIE, N.Y. (WNYT) — Colonie Police are asking for help finding a 43-year-old man for questioning after thefts from unlocked cars in Loudonville and a reported attempt to open car doors. According to police, officers got multiple reports Aug. 5 about a suspect stealing from motor vehicles near Turner Lane in Loudonville. Police said they were alerted again the next evening, Aug. 6, to a man suspected of trying to open car doors in the East Hills neighborhood. The description closely matched the suspect from the earlier thefts, according to the department, but police said the man left before officers arrived. Police also reminded residents to lock homes and vehicles and avoid leaving valuables in plain sight inside unattended cars.
