HUDSON, N.Y. (WNYT)- Stephanie VanAlstyne has resigned from her position with the Greenport Police Department and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office amid DWI charges, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Court records say Van Alstyne told a deputy she had been drinking brandy at home until early that morning but said she was not intoxicated. Because the case is now with the district attorney, the sheriff’s office and Greenport Police Department said they will have no further comment on the pending criminal case.
