Woman arrested on suspicion of GBH after police appeal over serious train assault

The arrest comes after a CCTV appeal was launched by British Transport Police following reports of an incident in Warrington.
At around 11.25pm on Saturday, August 1, a man was travelling on a train from Manchester Piccadilly heading towards Chester.
As the service arrived at Warrington Bank Quay, a woman who had been travelling on the same train is alleged to have struck him in the face with a sharp object.
Detectives say that the woman exited the train at Warrington Bank Quay immediately after the attack.
In an update, the force has now said: “A 23-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with this appeal.
