A Bend man was arrested in Mill City Wednesday after police found a dead woman in his car. Linn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived to a 7-Eleven in Mill City around 4:14 a.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a woman with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival deputies located Bend man, Rian Bernhardt, 51, acting “erratic” near a 2010 Ford Edge with an unresponsive woman in the vehicle. The woman who had been shot was identified by the sheriff’s office as Kristie Miltimore, 41, of Bend. Detectives from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office determined that Miltimore and Bernhardt were together at the time of the shooting in an unknown location near Mill City.
