(City of Bend)The Bend City Council approved a $5 million design contract for the San Francisco-centered firm Stacy Witbeck, Inc. for the future Reed Market Bridge project Wednesday night. The city has held several open houses on the project, as well as a recent roundtable in southeast Bend. The $32 million federal contract, over $13 million from the general obligation bond and $220,000 from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad will fund the project. $5 million for the design contract, more than $3 million for the owner’s representative contract and $37 million for construction make up the project’s costs.
