ROCKLAND, Maine — Two-and-a-half weeks after nomination papers became available, only two candidates have stepped forward for municipal positions.
Daniel Flynn of Maverick Street took out papers July 23 from the city clerk’s office for a seat on the City Council.
She spoke at the RSU 13 board’s Aug. 5 meeting and voiced concern about exposing young children (prekindergarten and kindergarten) to digital technology.
She noted the surgeon general has recommended waiting as late as possible to introduce children to digital technology.
City Council and school board candidates need to collect the signatures of at least 100 registered Rockland voters to qualify for the ballot.
