Rivers Police Nab Officer, UNIPORT Student Linked To Cult Violence

The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended two suspected cultists and seized firearms and ammunition during a signing-out ceremony for final-year students at the University of Port Harcourt.
In a press statement released on Friday and signed by its Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, the command revealed that the suspects—a police officer and a student—were preparing to clash with rival cultists before they were apprehended.
The PPRO added that the preliminary search led to the recovery of weapons such as pistols, ammunition, and axes.
Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to ensuring peace and security.
He cautioned that “there will be no hiding place for criminals in the State” and urged the public to report suspicious activity to security agencies.”
