Two people lost their lives, and six others were injured in a road traffic accident at Police Commissioner Junction in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Friday. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stated that the truck’s brake failure was the primary cause of the accident. Corps Commander Usman A. Muhammad, head of the FRSC Sector Command in Borno State, confirmed that emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the location. “The injured have been rushed to the State Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri, and the bodies of the deceased have been taken to the hospital mortuary,” Commander Muhammad said. Commander Muhammad also advised motorists to drive cautiously, comply with traffic laws, and carry out regular vehicle maintenance to avoid similar incidents.
