A Sac City facility becomes the first in the state to join a national healthcare initiative. Loring Hospital announced Thursday it’s joining the National Age-Friendly Health Systems Initiative and becoming the first hospital in Iowa to do so. The National Age-Friendly Health Systems Initiative is a collaborative movement designed to make older adult care safer. Loring Hospital CEO Matt Johnson says, “The Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative is an important part of our overarching vision to continually provide every patient who walks through our door with the best care possible.” With this change, the Sac City hospital joins a larger group of 5,200 health systems taking part in the initiative.
