(Horizon Media / OTTAWA) — Former Kitchener Centre MP Mike Morrice has entered the race to become the next leader of the Green Party of Canada, as the party prepares to choose a successor to longtime leader Elizabeth May. Green Party members will vote from November 2 to 13, with the new leader to be announced on November 14. Morrice represented Kitchener Centre in the House of Commons from 2021 to 2025, becoming the first Green MP elected in Ontario. He narrowly lost his seat in the 2025 federal election and was subsequently appointed deputy leader of the Green Party. He has already been nominated to contest Kitchener Centre again in the next federal election.
