Prosecutors had sought a minimum of 30 years to life for the premeditated, politically motivated crime. The attempt was thwarted when Roske, upon arrival near Kavanaugh’s Chevy Chase home, saw two Deputy U.S. Instead of proceeding, Roske walked away and called 911 to inform law enforcement of the plot.
