COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) — As the subtropical high pressure over the Atlantic shifts westward, Gulf moisture returns as southerly flow intensifies — bringing with it high humidity and chances of thunderstorms every afternoon.
FRIDAY: The morning will be mostly sunny, but by noon, a 20% chance of thunderstorms will stick around for the rest of the day.
That chance of thunderstorms will linger in the evening hours, but the threat will die off by about midnight.
SATURDAY: The patchy fog will dissipate within an hour or so of sunrise, revealing mostly sunny skies in the morning.
Conditions will be pretty similar to today, with a high around 94° and a peak heat index of 103°.
