For me, being a proud Englishman is to support our national endeavours, to support our sports teams and individual competitors. This means that when I see our flag cable-tied to lamp posts without permission, I have mixed feelings. Yet to remove them would remove the bright splash of colour, those memories of shared experience, of a sense of pride. Let’s show everybody that you can be a proud English person, irrespective of your political views and position.
