MEDORA, N.D. — Echoes of the West held its second annual gathering of artists on Aug. 5, featuring talent both local and from across the country. A multi-day event, Echoes of the West brings together participating artists and models to Medora. According to Hurt, Schultz and his father, Stan Schultz, are in charge of family business Schultz Wrangling and have years of experience working on movies and photo shoots. Yet, Hurt and Schultz felt that North Dakota’s badlands have been overlooked in western art and organized the first Echoes of the West event in 2025 to remedy that. Hurt has high hopes for the future of Echoes of the West.
