The collision involved a black Smart car and a stationary street cleaning vehicle on Christ Church Road shortly before 11.40pm on Wednesday (August 5). A woman in her 20s, who was a passenger in the car, sadly died at the scene. The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while over the prescribed limit, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and causing death by driving while uninsured. The road was closed for several hours to allow officers to carry out investigations and reopened later that morning.
