New research by food hygiene training provider High Speed Training found Bromley has the fourth-highest average food hygiene rating in London, scoring 4.64 out of five across 1,011 food businesses. The findings come from an analysis of Food Standards Agency (FSA) data covering more than 239,000 food businesses across the UK over the past five years. Overall, London ranked 10th out of the UK's 11 regions, with an average food hygiene score of 4.39. Under the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS), businesses are given a score between zero and five following inspections by Environmental Health Officers. The Food Standards Agency says the ratings help consumers make informed choices about where they eat while encouraging businesses to maintain high hygiene standards.
