Founded by the late Geoffrey Prince, the charity has remained entirely self-sustaining through the sale of handmade items, repairs and commercial commissions, alongside the dedication of its members, volunteers, committee and local businesses. The charity marked their 25th year anniversary last August (Image: Supplied)However, the workshop has now been told that its current tenancy will end in March 2027 due to refurbishment plans. With its extensive range of specialist machinery, finding suitable and affordable alternative premises is proving extremely difficult - and without a new home, the charity could be forced to close. Geoffrey’s daughter, Anna Wignall, is now appealing to the wider community for help in finding premises that will allow her father’s legacy, and the vital support network it provides, to continue for years to come.
