Ravi Patel is making a big play to capitalize on the region’s growing sports tourism sector with his first project in Colonial Heights. His firm, Sina Hospitality, is planning the Sina Sports Complex, featuring hotels, restaurants and synthetic turf fields on a 38-acre city-owned site at 301 Charles H Dimmock Parkway near Southpark Mall. Patel said the fields are expected to create a need for further development beyond the obligations being made to the city. Sina is the project’s developer and would operate the hotels and restaurants on the site. The project site will also need to be rezoned to allow the sports venue to proceed.
