The pub, across the road from King George’s Hall had for many years been a regular hang out for students from nearby Blackburn College and also for gig goers attending concerts at the nearby venue. In 2017 after once again being empty for some time it was renovated and opened as the Lemon Tree but that too closed down with the building later occupied by a restaurant/takeaway.
