Community members gathered in Gavin Park on Saturday morning for Dan’s Derby and Walk, a new version of the annual Dan Provost Memorial Walk. Put on now by the Prevention Council of Saratoga County, the event carries the same mission of remembering lives lost to a substance use disorder. The event also included a silent auction, featuring baskets, handmade items, gift cards, and more, as well as tabling from nonprofits and community organizations. “The walk has been going on seven years strong, we thought an important thing to continue to do is carry on the walk,” Executive Director of the Prevention Council Amy McBride said. All funds raised at Dan’s Derby and Walk will benefit the Prevention Council of Saratoga County, including Healing Springs Recovery Center.
