The Friday afternoon commute could be soggy as a weather alert has been issued for heavy rain.
Waterloo Region is among the areas under a special weather statement from Environment Canada.
The national weather agency says there’s the potential for scattered showers and thunderstorms.
“Some areas have already received 50 to 100 mm of rain this morning and may be sensitive to additional amounts,” the weather alert warns.
The heavy rain may lead to pooling on roads, flash flooding, and reduced visibility.
