The chief financial officer for Franklin Township, New Jersey, has been arrested and charged with theft by deception following, what officials called, the alleged operation of a "double-billing" scheme. On Friday, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson announced that on August 4, 2026, Cameron T. Keng, 39, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, the Chief Financial Officer for Franklin Township, was arrested and charged with theft by deception. At that time, according to the prosecutors' office, Unity Bank began an investigation into payroll fee transactions involving Franklin Township. During the course of this investigation, the bank, allegedly, determined a double-billing scheme was taking place and the findings were reported to police.
