Vijayawada:Telugu Desam leader Chalasani Anjaneyulu on Friday resigned as chairman of Vijaya Dairy, saying he was abiding by the party leadership's decision amid the controversy over his nomination for the post. Announcing his resignation, Anjaneyulu said the party's decision was supreme and that he valued the organisation above any position. Housing and I&PR minister Kolusu Parthasarathi said Anjaneyulu had stepped down to enable another party leader to head Vijaya Dairy. The party leadership is understood to have asked him to choose between the post and the party. Following this, Anjaneyulu resigned as chairman, bringing the controversy over the dairy's leadership to an end.
