Sam Mendes’ ambitious The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event is set to film at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios this summer, according to a production notice obtained by Deadline. The Beatles recorded 190 of their 210 released songs at Abbey Road between 1962 and 1970, and ultimately named their final recorded album after the iconic street. The production notice has already fueled speculation that the films could recreate the band’s instantly recognizable Abbey Road crosswalk photograph. Paul Mescal stars as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. Per Deadline, the quartet of films is being scripted by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan and Jack Thorne.
