Just after 11 p.m. Thursday, the Marblehead, Salem and Beverly harbormasters responded to Grays Rock for reports of a boat that had crashed onto the rocks. Marblehead Fire Department personnel then boarded the Marblehead harbormaster's boat and responded to Grays Rock to assist with the rescue of the remaining occupants. They were able to safely secure the individuals and transfer them to a Marblehead harbormaster boat. The Salem harbormaster transported two additional occupants with what are believed to be minor injuries to State Street Landing. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Marblehead and Salem police, Massachusetts Environmental Police and the Salem harbormaster.
