A network of Hampshire College supporters has raised more than $2 million to keep the school's campus from becoming what they describe as “the next data center or strip mall.” Hampshire Next, an independent volunteer coalition, says it is in talks with the school’s administrators to purchase the 800-acre Amherst campus and preserve it for educational and community use, according to a series of posts on the group’s social media in August.
