The arrests were made on Friday, August 7, following a major Garda operation linked to a series of serious assaults in the Ballyconnell area over the past week. Both victims were taken to Cavan General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A man in his 30s sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Cavan General Hospital. The operation involved approximately 40 Garda personnel from Cavan Community Engagement and the Cavan Crime Functional Area, supported by the Armed Support Unit. During the operation, four properties were searched and three men, all aged in their 30s, were arrested.
