Warning notices have been installed around two ponds in West Bridgford after blue-green algae was spotted in the water. The algae has been reported at Kingfisher Pond and the balancing pond near Broadstone Close in the Compton Acres area. Blue-green algae can produce toxins that are harmful to people and animals. Not every blue-green algae bloom is toxic, but it is not possible to tell whether it poses a danger simply by looking at it. Visitors should follow the warning notices installed at the ponds.
