As members of the British royal family begin retreating to the Scottish highlands for their annual summer holidays, Princess Anne was still hard at work on Wednesday. The Princess Royal attended a rehearsal for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Redford Barracks in Edinburgh, meeting with international performers, military personnel, and crew ahead of the event’s opening night on Friday. Being in Scotland, Princess Anne wore a pleated skirt with a traditional tartan print in red, blue, and green, which appeared similar to one made by House of Edgar, a Perth-based Highland wear manufacturer that the Princess Royal visited in 2022 in Keith, Scotland. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is one of Scotland’s most celebrated annual events, first staged on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle in 1950. Princess Anne has served as patron of the Edinburgh Tattoo since 2006.
