Onward Kashiyama, which acquired Joseph in 2005 for £140m, is understood to be working with PWC to facilitate discussions with “potential buyers”, Sky News reports. Joseph creative director Mario Arena, who joined the business in November 2024, has been widely credited for improving Joseph’s performance, something sources told the publication has “helped spark interest in a sale”. First founded by Moroccan-born entrepreneur Joseph Ettedgui in 1966, Joseph is known for its luxury wardrobe essentials, knitwear and tailoring. Joseph hired new creative director Mario Arena in 2024, he was previously JW Anderson director of product and design for ready-to-wear, accessories and catwalks. Joseph returned to the London Fashion Week schedule for autumn/winter 26 with a show at the Tate Modern gallery.
