Upon seeing the trooper, authorities say the suspect, identified as 60-year-old Josh Wallace of Sturgis, pulled to the shoulder of the road. As the trooper approached the car, authorities say Wallace exited his vehicle and pointed a handgun at the trooper. In response, authorities say the trooper discharged his agency-issued weapon, striking Wallace. Authorities say the trooper rendered first aid until EMS arrived.
