Palumbo sought to keep the accused in custody, explaining that release would pose a public safety risk.
She went on to say that the accused lit a fire and stated, “Superman lit fire by his eyes,” highlighting that the accused has mental health issues.
Also, even if the accused might be unhoused upon release, the court has released unhoused people before.
DeAnda agreed with Palumbo that the accused has mental health issues and insisted that the accused should receive the appropriate treatment.
The accused was ordered not to possess any flammable materials, to look into treatment for their mental health issues and to appear in court.
