UPDATE (Aug. 7, 1:30 p.m.):The Coldwater Indian Band has now issued an evacuation order for Paul’s Basin IR No. ORIGINAL:A new evacuation order has been issued and an evacuation alert expanded southwest of Merritt as the Ainslie Creek wildfire continues to threaten communities west of the city. The Thompson-Nicola Regional District issued an evacuation order Friday for properties in the Coldwater-Patchett area, saying the wildfire poses an immediate threat to the area. A complete list of affected addresses and maps for both the evacuation order and evacuation alert are available through the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Emergency Operations Centre. At the same time, the TNRD expanded an evacuation alert for additional properties southwest of Merritt.
