Abkhazia was left without power supply due to a systemic failure at the Ingur Hydroelectric Power Station (HPP), the main source of electricity.
Abkhazia and Georgia jointly manage the Ingur HPP, with the machine hall located on the Abkhazian side and the dam on the Georgian side.
During the testing process, the anti-emergency automation was triggered again, causing the automatic shutdown of all the generators at the Ingur HPP.
What’s wrong with this hydroelectric power station?
‘If the Ingur HPP has such a problem in the summer, what will happen in the winter?
