Archaeologists from AOC Scotland will be in Peebles on Thursday (August 13), to digitally survey the site as part of the Uncovering the Tweed project. No prior experience is needed, and the survey team will provide full instruction and supervision. The route through Hay Lodge will pass below the icehouse, where a new interpretative panel, using the survey results, will be placed. Built in 1771, Hay Lodge House was the new home of Captain Adam Hay of Soonhope, MP for Perthshire. The Peeblesshire Archaeological Society has published a booklet, "Hay Lodge - A Walk in the Park," detailing the full story.
