The 2012 Aerosmith song Steven Tyler believed was “rock ‘n’ roll at its finest”It is a tired trope for musicians to claim their latest album is the best of their career, and everything they’ve ever done has been building to this point. While the album wasn’t received to a rapturous ovation, frontman Steven Tyler maintained that one track was as good as anything they’d made before, and could stand up against any rock song from history. Even the ballad ‘What Could Have Been Love’ turned out respectable, but for Tyler, Joe Perry’s song ‘Oh Yeah’ was the highlight by a distance. Tyler felt that ‘Oh Yeah’ was the song that could cut through in any era, saying, “If you want to hear rock and roll at its finest, just listen to Joe’s song ‘Oh Yeah’ on the new album. While it doesn’t have the fanfare surrounding it compared to anything from Rocks or Toys in the Attic, ‘Oh Yeah’ does still sound pretty damn good.
