Suzanne Jackson’s “What Is Love” exhibit, which aims to express the earthy and spiritual dimensions of love through Jackson’s lifelong artistic journey, will be at the Walker Art Center until Aug. 23.
Originally, Jackson chose the title “What I Love,” but decided to switch to “What Is Love.”
People need beauty,” Jackson said.
For the work, Jackson used a multitude of materials, including acrylic wash, acrylic gel medium, acrylic detritus, firewood bag netting, peanut shells, wood and D-rings to depict the scene.
‘What Is Love” reflects on beauty as a political force, and beauty as an act of care and a means of survival.
