Discovery faces a major courtroom hurdle after a federal judge scheduled an antitrust trial for early spring. U.S. District Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín ordered the trial to run from March 2 to March 19 in an Oakland federal court. Bonta recently clarified that if the federal court rules in favor of the states, the transaction will remain halted throughout any subsequent appeals process. If the merger deal is not completed by June 4, 2026, the deal will expire.
