By Carlos ReyesLos Angeles County residents can earn up to $600 by agreeing to leave at least one household vehicle parked at home for five weeks under an expanded transit incentive program launching this summer.
Building on a smaller pilot project in Santa Monica, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is expanding its One Car Challenge across the entire county.
Unlike the initial pilot, which required households to own multiple vehicles, the expanded phase opens eligibility to single-car households as well.
To participate, applicants must be LA County residents aged 21 or older with at least one automobile in the home.
