Piker has not been able to escape GOP attacks for his so-called hot take. The Republican National Committee often shares clips of Piker making outlandish claims, framing him as a “spokesperson” for el Sayed, who is Muslim. Republican groups have also highlighted other clips of Piker discussing his views, portraying the remarks as politically damning. The National Republican Senatorial Committee posted a montage of Piker discussing black voters, a critical bloc el Sayed needs to sway in his general election campaign. In another clip, Piker asked: “Any other black folk want to engage in radical activist language in this f***ing chat?”
