The Haryana Police on Friday claimed to have gunned down two alleged shooters, just over a day after they allegedly killed Biru Valmiki, a 28 year old with several criminal cases against him. The encounter took place near near Ghoghadipur canal in Karnal in the intervening night of August 6 and 7, they said. Karnal police said the encounter took place around midnight when teams intercepted the two suspects riding a motorcycle near the canal. Karnal SP Narendra Bijarniya reached the spot and assured the family of action following which the protestors lifted their blockade.
