OpenAI announced yesterday that free ChatGPT users can now enjoy unlimited text conversations with the chatbot. “GPT‑5.6 Luna will become the default model for Free and Go users this week. Starting next week, they’ll also have unlimited text chats and access to a new Think button for harder questions (subject to abuse guardrails). By upgrading the free version of ChatGPT with unlimited text conversations, OpenAI is making the value proposition of its $8/month ChatGPT Go plan less clear. The new plugin also integrates with Codex and the new ChatGPT Work experience that launched last month alongside OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 models.
