Journalist Don Lemon is seeking to dismiss an indictment against him linked to an anti-ICE protest in a St. Paul church, arguing he was “punished” for exercising First Amendment rights. In a motion filed on Friday, Lemon asked the court to dismiss multiple felony civil rights charges over reporting a protest during Operation Metro Surge. Activist Nekima Levy Armstrong organized the takeover because one of the congregation’s pastors was the acting director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s St. Paul field office.
