The town’s community council met on Wednesday (August 5) for its monthly meeting. Members raised concerns around parking around Galashiels and looked to discuss solutions. If it were to be de-criminalised, Scottish Borders Council would have to employ traffic wardens to dish out fines and penalties. Member Sandy Walker said: “We had traffic wardens years ago but the council reassured us that the police would deal with it. Mrs Crow added: “I will draft something up expressing our views and we would like something done about it.”
