Solent Rescue Lifeboat volunteers responded to a vessel fire off Calshot after a Mayday was broadcast by the boat. Upon arrival, they discovered that the fire had been put out using the equipment onboard the vessel. Solent Rescue Lifeboat responding to one of the callouts (Image: Solent Rescue Lifeboat)One casualty on board, who suffered from suspected smoke inhalation, was transported by the crew to shore and handed over to the ambulance service. As well as confirming the fire was out, the crew also isolated the vessel to prevent any further risk. The Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident to assess the boat.
